The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) celebrated Teacher’s Day today, honoring the unwavering dedication and contributions of its faculty members in shaping and developing the character and skills of the students.
"Sobrang importante po nila [instructors], lalo na sa'min po na Criminology dahil kami po ay course na merong Board Exam. And ang amin pong mga prof ang nag-ga-guide sa amin at ang nagtuturo sa amin," said Ms. Abegail Mansalapuz, a third-year student.
Ms. Mansalapuz further stressed the crucial role of teachers in a student's college life as they are the ones who instill discipline and values, which students can apply as they enter the professional world in the future.
"Parang naging inspiration na po namin sila [instructors], yung mga sinasabi nila, para ma-adopt po namin ang pagiging ma-respeto," Ms. Mikaella Subai stated, a freshman.
Ms. Subai added that they admire their teachers, who serve as their motivation to consistently uphold respect, a fundamental value for students.
"Mahalaga yung role ng mga college instructor namin ngayong college life ko kasi mas madami kaming natututunan, and mas na-develop yung pagkatao namin," said Mr. Kim Jovell Catiis, a third-year student.
Mr. Catiis also emphasized that the instructors play a crucial role in mentally and physically preparing them for their future responsibilities as criminology students.
"As a Criminology student, napakahalaga po ng aming mga instructor, especially sa paghubog po ng aming kakayahan, at paghubog kung ano pa, at kung hanggang saan ang kaya naming gawin," stated by Ms. Alexandra Denise Garcia, a fourth-year student.
Ms. Garcia further conveyed how teachers helped them understand the importance of working under pressure and pushing their limits, as time is not always within their control in reality. She also mentioned that their teachers encouraged them to always do their best and give their all, preparing them for the future.
The celebration concluded with a closing statement from one of the hosts: “To the world, you may just be a teacher, but to your students, you are a hero.”
