KLL holds its 27th Commencement Exercises

Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa (KLL) celebrated its 27th Commencement Exercises at the Lipa Academy of Sports, Culture and Arts (LASCA) on July 19, 2023. The event was graced by college officials, distinguished guests and proud parents and relatives of the graduates. The event was themed "Education at Its Core: Enriching, Broadening and Advancing Toward Success."

The procession began with the candidates for graduation, followed by the awardees, administrative personnel, college officials, Vice Presidents, Deans, faculty, members of the Board Of Trustees, College Administrator and distinguished guests.

The CCJ ROTC officers led the entrance of colors. The attendees stood for the doxology, Philippine National Anthem and the Lipeno Hymn. It was followed by the presentation of candidates for graduation led by Ms. Delia A. Librea, the OIC-College Registrar.

Mr. Mario Carmelo A. Pesa, the College Administrator, conferred the degrees and programs upon the graduates, emphasizing the importance of education in shaping their future paths.

"By the power instilled in me by the Commission on Higher Education and the Board of Trustees of Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa, it is indeed an honor and a pleasure for me to bestow and confirm upon all of you the degrees you're entitled to. With all the rights, privileges and responsibilities there to appertaining. Congratulations! You have just graduated!," Mr. Mario Carmelo A. Pesa said.

Mrs. Maria Theresa S. Rana, Dean of the College of Communication Arts, introduced KLL Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Hon. Eric B. Africa, who highlighted the significance of the college's leadership in guiding students towards excellence.

Hon. Eric B. Africa, the City Mayor and Chairman of the KLL Board of Trustees threw a message to batch 2023 graduates, encouraging them to embrace the future with confidence, determination and a commitment to positively impact society.

"Batch 2023, you are our city's great resource and pride. Ang inyong pinanday na galing at kaalaman ang susi sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng Lungsod ng Lipa. Because you are our future. Now, the challenge for you is to become excellent in your field and to practice your social responsibility after graduation. Always strive for excellence. Excellent in a way that you share what your institution have instilled upon you," Mayor Africa expressed in his speech.

In response to the challenge, Lawrence Aaron P. Roque, a student from the Department of College of Communication Arts and the Magna Cum Laude of Batch 2023, expressed his gratitude for the people who have inspired and helped him through his journey and his excitement for the opportunities that lie ahead, pledging to make a difference in the world. He also showed his appreciation to the city government for giving their full support to the students of KLL.

"On behalf of all the graduates here today, I want to thank the city government for supporting their scholars, and enabling us to reach this momentous occasion. Thank you for implementing programs that have helped us become better students and individuals," Mr. Roque said.

The respective college deans, Dr. Aquilino D. Arellano, Mr. Mario Carmelo A. Pesa and Hon. Eric B. Africa had the honor of presenting the diplomas and awarded the academic honors to the deserving graduates.

The graduates then sang to the beat of chosen graduation songs that were Mapa by SB19 and Best Day of My Life by American Authors.

As the ceremony drew to a close, Lawrence Aaron P. Roque led the "vow of allegiance" for the rest of the graduates until the event concluded with them singing KLL hymn.
