This day is significant for Filipinos as it commemorates the establishment of the First Philippine Republic, which was settled in Malolos, Bulacan during the Philippine Revolution in 1899. It was a momentous occasion, as it was the first independent government in Asia, with Emilio Aguinaldo serving as its president. The establishment of the First Philippine Republic was a result of the hardships and sufferings that our ancestors experienced at the hands of the invaders. Many Filipinos were unable to voice their grievances, and so they chose to fight for their freedom and justice. Despite the challenges and obstacles, their sacrifices helped shape our lives and gave us a great legacy to be proud of. The festivities include bazaars, contests, and parades of all sorts, which engage the government, academe, and private sector in a collective effort that is much awaited by residents and tourists alike. Aside from the Grand Float Parade which happened early this morning, there are also Procession and Novena Mass of San Sebastian, and Lipeño Nights sponsored by Mayor Eric Africa. On the other hand, a set of activities such as Lipa Music Fest 2024, Fashion Show, Food Fair, Lipa City Music Fest, Mutya ng Lipa 2024, Yabangan Nights and many more had commenced and ran from January 11-19, 2024.  

  By: Angel Marie Calacala Photo By: John Emmanuel Ombina Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa (KLL) PEP Squad showcased a festive performance with impressive stunts at the 25th Anniversary of Fiesta World Mall on Monday.   Led by Mr. Aaron Charles David Baylon, the KLL PEP Squad Team Captain, the squad expressed their pride in being able to perform outside of their usual school events and for the entire Lipeños. They had diligently prepared to deliver their best performance to the Lipeños. "Super proud kami gawa ng nang galing kami sa ang pinapeperforman na namin ay usually sa mga events sa school or kaya mga events ng kakilala ng coaches namin ngayon nakapag present kami for the whole Lipa" Mr. Baylon, said on an interview.    In addition to the PEP Squad, several talented KLL students from various art groups also participated in the event.
