The “World Mental Health Day” aims to raise awareness about mental health issues around the world and mobilize efforts in supporting mental health. World Mental Health Day serves as an opportunity for everyone to improve their knowledge in raising awareness and initiate an action for protecting and promoting everyone’s mental health as a universal human right.

Mental health is an integral component of our overall well-being, yet it remains one of the most overlooked and stigmatized aspects of human existence. One of the most significant barriers is the pervasive stigma surrounding mental illness. Misconceptions, discrimination and fear led individuals to suffer in silence rather than to seek help. This stigma not only impedes early intervention and treatment but also perpetuates the cycle of suffering and isolation. Moreover, the modern world brings unique stressors that can strain mental health. The constant barrage of information in the digital age, social media pressures, and the demand of a fast-paced lifestyle can contribute to anxiety, depression and burnout.

In the 21st century wherein the world is changing rapidly, the importance of understanding, discussing, and prioritizing mental health has never been greater. Mental health compasses our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It influences how we think, feel and act, ultimately determining our ability to handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. It affects our relationship, work and school performance, and the pursuit of personal goal. So through this special day may we all learn to understand, respect, and let others' voices be heard.
